कणयाणि णियलाणि वि बंधेयं तह य लोह-णियलाणि।
जह बंधेइ कुसीलं तह सुसीलं पि जीवं पि॥
kaṇayāṇi ṇiyalāṇi vi baṁdheyaṁ taha ya loha-ṇiyalāṇi
jaha baṁdhei kusīlaṁ taha susīlaṁ pi jīvaṁ pi
Simple Meaning · सरल अर्थ
जैसे लोहे की बेड़ियाँ बाँधती हैं, वैसे ही सोने की बेड़ियाँ भी बाँधती हैं। जैसे कुशील (पाप) जीव को बाँधता है, वैसे ही सुशील (पुण्य) भी जीव को बाँध देता है।
Just as iron chains bind, so too do golden chains bind. Just as bad conduct (pāpa) binds the soul, so too does good conduct (puṇya) bind the soul.
