जो जाणइ अप्पाणं अप्पादो परम्मि होइ कत्ता।
सो खलु णिच्छय-कत्ता तस्स कम्म-स्स बंध-णिर्मुक्को॥
jo jāṇai appāṇaṁ appādo parammi hoi kattā
so khalu ṇicchaya-kattā tassa kammassa baṁdha-ṇirmukko

जो (जीव) आत्मा को (आत्मा के रूप में) जानता है, और आत्मा से भिन्न (पर) में कर्ता-भाव रखता है — वह वस्तुतः निश्चय-कर्ता है। उसका कर्म-बन्धन से छूटना (मुक्त होना) सम्भव है।
The one who knows the soul (as itself) and is the doer with regard to what is *other* than the soul — that one is, in truth, the absolute doer; for that one, freedom from the bondage of karma is real.
