जीवो चरित्त-दंसण-णाणट्ठिदो तं हि ससमयं जाण।
पोग्गल-कम्म-पदेसट्ठिदं च तं जाण परसमयं॥२॥
jīvo caritta-daṁsaṇa-ṇāṇaṭṭhido taṁ hi sa-samayaṁ jāṇa
poggala-kamma-padesaṭṭhidaṁ ca taṁ jāṇa para-samayaṁ
Simple Meaning · सरल अर्थ
जो जीव अपने चारित्र, दर्शन, और ज्ञान में स्थित है — उसे "स्व-समय" (अपने स्वरूप में स्थित आत्मा) जानो। और जो जीव कर्मरूपी पुद्गल के प्रदेश में स्थित है — उसे "पर-समय" (पराये में स्थित आत्मा) जानो।
When the soul rests in its own (true) faith, knowledge, and conduct — know that as *sva-samaya*, the soul in its own state. When the soul rests in karmic-matter-conditions — know that as *para-samaya*, the soul in another's state.
