च्युत-जीविताशाः

ि मकर-ध्वज--

udbhūta-bhīṣaṇa-jalodara-bhāra-bhugnāḥ
śocyāṁ daśām-upagatāś-cyuta-jīvitāśāḥ
tvat-pāda-paṅkaja-rajo-mṛta-digdha-dehā
martyā bhavanti makara-dhvaja-tulya-rūpāḥ

भयानक जलोदर (पेट के पानी) के भार से झुके हुए, जिनकी जीवन की आशा छूट गयी है, ऐसे शोचनीय दशा को प्राप्त मनुष्य भी — आपके चरण-कमल की रज-रूपी अमृत से लिप्त शरीर वाले होने पर — कामदेव के समान सुन्दर हो जाते हैं।


Even those bowed under the terrifying weight of dropsy, fallen into a piteous state with hope of life all gone — once their bodies are anointed with the nectar that is the dust of Your lotus-feet — become like Kāmadeva, lovely as the love-god himself.
