Sambhavanatha

सम्भवनाथ

Sambhavanatha — “the originator” — is the third Tirthankara, born in the city of Sravasti to King Jitari and Queen Sena. Tradition holds that his birth coincided with relief from a long-standing famine in the region; the people credited his arrival with the return of abundance.

He renounced the throne after a period of kingship. He attained kevala-jnana under a sala tree and reached mokṣa at Mt. Sammed Shikhar.
