Munisuvrata

मुनिसुव्रत

Munisuvrata — “the one of good monastic vows” — is the twentieth Tirthankara, born in Rajagriha (the capital of Magadha — later associated with both the Jain and Buddhist traditions) to King Sumitra and Queen Padmāvatī. He is one of two Tirthankaras (with Neminatha) whose complexion is described as black/dark rather than golden.

His lañchana is the tortoise (kūrma), a symbol of endurance and slow steady progress. Mokṣa at Mt. Sammed Shikhar.
