Chandraprabha
चन्द्रप्रभ
Chandraprabha — “the moon-radiant” — is the eighth Tirthankara, born in Chandrapuri (the “city of the moon”) to King Mahasena and Queen Lakshmana. His complexion is traditionally described as white — like the moon's light — and his lañchana is the crescent moon. The whole iconography aligns: city, name, complexion, symbol all point to chandra.
He attained kevala-jnana under a naga tree; reached mokṣa at Mt. Sammed Shikhar.
