Birthplace of Suparshvanatha (7th) and Parshvanatha (23rd). One of the oldest Jain sites in India.
Varanasi (ancient Kashi) is the birthplace of Bhagavan Suparshvanatha and Bhagavan Parshvanatha. The principal Jain temples are at Bhelupur (Parshvanatha's birth site) and Bhadaini. Sarnath (12 km north) is also closely tied to the early life of Tirthankara Shreyansanatha (11th) in some accounts.
